Condition Treated: Postural Cervical

Experience:

I had heard about AktivHealth from my school friend, Dr. Sanjay Manchanda, at Gangaram Hospital, in New Delhi. I was diagnosed with postural cervical syndrome and thoracic hypo-mobility. Working on a computer for long hours only made it worse. Prior to visiting AktivHealth, I had undergone several fitness programs over a course of 9 months at other centers. In September 2013, I made my first visit to AktivHealth with severe pain and swelling on the right side of my neck, which got compounded with painful knots in my shoulders. I would wake up every morning with pain and stiffness. I couldn’t cope with the daily 10-hour computer work schedule anymore.

I was a bit skeptical when I started out here but very soon this skepticism was replaced by satisfaction.

Precision! That’s what I have experienced at AktivHealth. To treat well, a doctor must need to diagnose accurately and that’s what Dr. Mueller did. He had diagnosed with precision and his team took it through with the same precision. They actually aim at getting you better and not coming back to them. Initially, I was going to AktivHealth thrice a week which didn’t seem enough but now, I visit them twice aiming to take it down to once a week quite soon. I resumed my golf lessons last month. Though I haven’t attained a perfect fitness level, I know I am almost there.

To conclude, it’s German precision! I have to say from the diagnosis to the treatment to follow-up to the selection of the therapist–it all makes one great journey and feeling good is like an addiction at AktivHealth.

Condition Treated: Knee Pain

Experience:

I was suffering from an acute knee problem due to which I could not exercise well. I came to know about AktivHealth through an advertisement and visited the center in January 2016. The personalized attention and emphasis on core-strengthening have helped me immensely. The personal indulgence of Dr. Mueller and his team in understanding my ailment and formulating a treatment plan speaks volumes of the high degree of professionalism and involvement.

The quality of care has been excellent. The physiotherapist, Ms. Vidhu Sindwani has been very dedicated to my cause which has been a constant source of motivation for me. The core strength has improved, muscles have become more active and I love to work out now which was not the case earlier. I also feel more active and am mentally at ease to take up challenges that come my way. Condition Treated:  Parkinson’s Disease

Experience:

I learned about AktivHealth from my nephew and came to the center in March 2015 for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Earlier, I had undergone treatment in the National Neurology Institute in Singapore but not being a permanent resident of Singapore, I am not entitled to the rehabilitation program.

At AktivHealth, the quality of treatment administered is unique and what stood out was the personal touch of my physiotherapist, Ms. Pooja Bajaj. I felt cared for. The approach to treatment has been very scientific as well as progressive. The efforts put in by Dr. Mueller and the pains taken by his team is well manifested in the professionalism exhibited by one and all. I do experience a great deal of improvement. Condition Treated: Spinal & Neurological Problem

Experience: 

I was introduced to AktivHealth by my golfing friend, Mr Gagan Verma, who himself had been suffering from a severe spine problem and got completely rehabilitated at the same center. He had strongly urged me to start my treatment at AktivHealth. This is how I met Dr. Mueller, who along with Physiotherapist Akshay Arora, examined my physical condition.

I was suffering from a broad-based Disc Protrusion at L4-L5 in my Lumbar Spine and was diagnosed with Spinal Canal Stenosis and Neural Compression at L4-L5 level, causing intense pain in my both legs. Since then, I have been taking my physiotherapy sessions from Akshay who taught me various techniques very thoroughly, both with and without the equipment installed at different departments of the center. I must state, the facilities provided here are certainly state-of-the-art and the patients are fully trained to use them for their physical improvement and fitness.

After a period of 10-12 weeks, my body movement had improved and the pain in my legs did not bother me anymore. Thereafter, with subsequent assessments by Dr. Mueller and therapy sessions with Akshay, I have even resumed my game of golf which I couldn’t play before, owing to severe pain.

During my rehabilitation period, I observed that the technique followed here to be very unique. Doctors train different muscles and components of the spine to reduce stiffness, making muscles more flexible resulting in pain relief.

Condition Treated:  Spinal Cord Injury

Experience:

He (Mr. Kevin) had almost lost his will to continue his treatment and we would have gone back to our country (Nigeria) with a certain feeling of dejection and despondency if his physiotherapist, Ms.Aditi Midha had not been so motivating and a big pusher. She always encouraged him to go on. It was only her who made all the difference. She always told him, ‘You can do it. You have to do it. You have to get well and walk again’.

We would also have gone back had his condition remained the same. But we stayed back as he was improving a lot at AktivHealth.

Aditi’s inspiring words and tremendous efforts kept him sailing and the difference is here for all of us to see. He was fully paralyzed for 5 years in Nigeria and there was no hope that he would stand on his feet again. We have been to a couple of facilities in our country taking sessions twice a week but we did not get much improvement.

We came to India primarily for his surgery but were told that he needed only physiotherapy. Then, one doctor (Dr. Surbhi Suden) referred the name of AktivHealth to us and that is how we landed at this facility in April 2014. We liked the facility, its caring and friendly staff, and high standard equipment. The process has been very scientific and systematic. The results have been beyond our expectations. We would like to stay in India and continue his sessions but have to go back to Nigeria. Nonetheless, we will follow the home exercise program (HEP) given to us by AktivHealth.

The quality and care are fantastic at AktivHealth. Now, he is able to walk again and that is truly magical. The facility is very good with all the advanced equipment in place. Condition Treated: Movement Disorder & Scoliosis

Experience:

We came to know about AktivHealth from our German friends. Our son has a rare genetic condition known as “NGLY-1 deficiency”. We registered at the center in June 2013 for pediatric physiotherapy and to consult Dr. Gerd Mueller (MD). Benno was assigned to Ms. Aditi Midha, a pediatric physiotherapist.

Before AktivHealth, we did home-based physiotherapy for our son for a long time. AktivHealth’s physiotherapy is on par with the treatment we received in Germany. In fact, scheduling is more efficient here.

Now, Benno has a stronger neck and his legs are beginning to dissociate. The treatment approach at AktivHealth is different from another Delhi-based physiotherapist who provided physiotherapy for our son before we came to AktivHealth. I do not think of the approach as western vs. Indian but rather standardized vs. individualized. We appreciate that Aditi takes her cues from our son instead of implementing a standard program.

Experience:

I learned about AktivHealth through an article in the Hindustan Times. We (my wife and I) came to the center in October 2013 as my neurologist advised me to go for physiotherapy. I had a minor stroke in 2008 and also had a frozen shoulder.

Before coming to AktivHealth, I went to another hospital for physiotherapy but did not continue as there were too many patients being attended by too few physiotherapists. At AktivHealth, I have a dedicated physiotherapist for 1 hour who only attends to me. It offers very high-quality levels of care.

Now my gait has improved and my energy levels are higher. My shoulder, which had undergone a reverse shoulder replacement, is now fully functional. At AktivHealth, the treatment approach is very different.

Experience:

My husband Mr. Gopi Nambier has enrolled himself with AktivHealth, so I also got my daughter Thushara for a check-up. She has inward walking i.e. she walks with her feet turned in. After joining AktivHealth. Thushara has started walking properly. Now only occasionally, her feet go inwards since there is a tendency. The quality of care and treatment are given by a therapist is great. Pallavi is excellent with kids. The approach at AktivHealth is very different. Educating the patient and relatives is very good. Condition Treated: Brainstem stroke

Experience:

I suffered two strokes and felt helpless; I turned to AktivHealth. My condition improved considerably within 2 months – thanks to an efficient team of Physiotherapists and expert guidance provided by Dr. Mueller. I now drive independently and experience improved stability in my walking.

In February 2012, I had two strokes diagnosed as bilateral pontine infarct, also known as brainstem stroke. Before coming to AktivHealth, I had been treated at several medical centres and they all contributed to my progress, but they were stopping at a particular point of my recovery.

On 23rd August 2013, I made my first visit to AktivHealth and was pleased to see that everything was very professional. Then, I realised why the centre handles each client with a prior appointment. They respect and value time.

Condition Treated: Cervical Radiculopathy & Disc Bulge

Experience:

I came to AktivHealth with acute pain due to a disc bulging in my cervical spine. This lead to radiating pain and numbness in my left arm.
